Casa Paola

Casa Paola is a charming stone house in the center of the beautiful Lucca hill-town of Aquilea (translates to "where eagles fly"). It is a tower-style house where each room is on one floor with a spiral staircase to connect them, all restored with tasteful decòr. There are 2 bedrooms, a lovely library-style seating area and well-appointed full kitchen and full bathroom.

Casa Paola is an easy 10km drive to historic Lucca. The history of the village Aquilea can be traced back to the roman empire and the village was wealthy and populated into the middle ages. The town belonged to the "vescovo," or bishop, of Lucca, where the ruins of a medieval castle are still visible. The village is located in the nearby hills of the Garfagnana valley, a great place to walk, for horseback riding or just to enjoy a day in the mountainside surrounding villages, tasting local food and wine at very moderate prices.
